Mike has devoted his career to risk management and insurance, working in the industry in a variety of roles for more than 30 years. As Senior Vice President, Mike provides leadership and strategic direction as part of Van Wyk's executive team. He also serves as the team leader and advisor for Van Wyk's commercial clients, working closely with the client managers to deliver innovative risk management solutions and exceptional service to our clients.
While Mike is well versed in risk management for a variety of industries, his specialty areas of expertise include the food, manufacturing and retail industries, and he serves as the risk management resource for the Michigan State University Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics.
Mike also counsels Van Wyk's clients in alternative risk financing strategies such as offshore single parent and group captives, as well as other types of self insurance, and large national and multinational accounts.
